Lantau Island: Discovery Bay
Located on the northeastern side of Lantau Island, Discovery Bay offers a relaxing and outdoor lifestyle in an environment that is natural and beautiful, popular with expatriates and the young professional local families.
There is a wide variety of property types including highrise and lowrise condominiums and garden townhouses, all at rentals which are very competitive with those of Hong Kong island.
Discovery Bay has its fire station, shopping centre, restaurants, Residents’ Clubhouse with excellent recreational facilities, golf course and both a primary and secondary school. Commuting time to Central is only 20-25 minutes via comfortable, modern, air-conditioned high speed ferries.
No private cars are allowed in Discovery Bay but buses are provided from the ferry to all areas including Tung Chung and Sunny Bay MTR stations, and the airport at Chep Lap Kok. Some residents drive “golf buggy” style vehicles which are distributed in deliberately limited supply by the Developers.
The ongoing growth of Discovery Bay continues with the construction of Amalfi, the latest luxury highrise residential development, a new 5-star deluxe resort hotel, associated commercial centre and recreational facilities, and a private independent international school operated by the English Schools Foundation offering 1300 places for primary and secondary students.
